Aviary is an incredibly ambitious online service for image editing. It’s all Flash based, and they’ve recently added an application for creating and editing vector graphics.
Another ambitious design/developer tool we found this week was Lovely Charts. It can create flowcharts and wireframes: check out the tour and gallery to see more before signing up.
Color Scheme Designer is a cool tool for creating and editing colour schemes.
Favicon Generator converts images into favicons. There’s a Photoshop plugin that does this, but this is a great solution when you don’t have the plugin or Photoshop available (working away from the office on a netbook for example).
Social Networking Tools

Twitlet lets you send tweets from your bookmarks bar — another good example of just how easy it is to use the Twitter API.

TweetBeep and Twilert are two services for getting alerts about Twitter content. Twilert is made by Codegent, a fellow London-based company. I’ve tested it out and it works well — it requires an email confirmation to work so don’t sign up with an example.com email if you want to use it. Twilert sends daily, weekly and monthly messages and you can set the time they’re sent. TweetBeep offers up to hourly notification.

StockTwits is another Twitter-based community tool. This one keeps track of investors and stocks on Twitter. If it takes off it’ll be the number one argument for selling Twitter to your boss.
