Quite Useful Weekly Roundup
Here are a few gems from our Twitter and blog posts this week:
Social
SocialWhois is a tool that allows you to look up a username on FriendFeed or Twitter and view their profile. You can also search for people based on an interest (they call this tags). Pipl is a similar service in that it hits profiles on sites like Flickr, but it also scans documents, photos and blog posts.
A related tool is AddressBookSync: it’s designed to help you sync Facebook and Address Book data on your Mac.
We also featured an article on taming multiple Twitter accounts.
Design
YourFonts is a tool for creating fonts based on your own design. To use it, print off the template then write each letter in your own style. Scan the template, then upload it to the site and it’ll create a font for you.
Hacker
This is a great post about visualising unix pipes: Pipe Viewer. Ric Roberts wrote a Quite Useful article about NetBeans this week, where he shows you how to customise it for Ruby on Rails development.
Sequel Pro is a great free tool for working with MySQL databases. It’s a fork of CocoaMySQL. Even the icon looks cool!
